Already well into your U.S. immigration journey and thinking about taking the next steps to become a U.S. Citizen? If you are a current green card holder, you may qualify to apply for naturalization if you:

  • Are at least 18 years old;

  • Have been a green card holder for the past three years (while also married to a U.S. Citizen) or otherwise five years;

  • Have had continuous residence and physical presence in the U.S.;

  • Have lived for at least three months in a state or USCIS district having jurisdiction over your place of residence;

  • Plan to reside continuously within the U.S. from the date you filed your application until the date you naturalize;

  • Are able to read, write and speak basic English;

  • Have knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of U. S. history and government; and

  • Have good moral character
